After a way too long hiatus, I am back. Woo hoo! I am so excited to be here and this time with a 2017 update. My gorgeous new website is the incredible creative vision of MaryJane Sky of Artrepreneur. An incredible artist in her own right, MaryJane is also in the business of helping creatives realise their online presence. Thank you MaryJane, you have been a superstar xx
Thank you also to Aunia Kahn of Alexi Era Gallery for all your love, support and patience in getting to this point. I could not have got to this point without you xx
I am so happy to be sharing my virtual home with you.
Some of you may already know me from my social media homes on Facebook and Instagram but for those who are new to my world of magical girls, let me introduce myself.
I am Deborah and I truly believe that unimaginable and magical things can happen if you let them … (and of course you work your little bottom off!)
From The Sadness to The Magical
In childhood, I spent hours creating stories and drawing the characters that would have adventures within those stories. I was a shy child much more able to relate to my ‘made up’ characters than ‘real life’ people around me.
As an adult, I became a Primary School Teacher and felt I had the best job in the world. I could encourage the children’s joy in stories and their incredible imaginations. They ignited a passion in me that I thought had long since been buried. I will be forever grateful for that time. But unfortunately, after being diagnosed with a lifelong chronic illness, it came to an end much earlier than I would have hoped.
But, out of the negative flourished my next chapter. I returned to my adorable, dusty storage box of childhood stories and characters and escaped to my long lost Wonderland. I found a new focus and a purpose that I thought I had long since left behind – I began to draw and paint and write again.
And, I loved it.
It has brought me a whole new circle of friends for whom I will be forever grateful. I am still amazed by the response to my work and so happy that people have taken it to their hearts. The art community is one of the most magical, encouraging and supportive I have experienced. I have met some people who I know will be friends for life.
Loads of Love
I hope to meet many new arty kindred spirits and share with you my wins and fails. I hope you will come along for the ride. I can’t promise it will be smooth sailing but I will strive to make it worth your while.
Talk soon; hugs …
